The South Australian Emergency Service is a volunteer based organization that responds to a wide range of emergencies and rescues across the state 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
During the recent storms and was part of the team who handled over 600 emergency calls.
She was also out there during the worst of it helping the community stay safe, and says it gave her a new appreciation for the hard work put in by our emergency services.
Volunteering has been one of the most rewarding things in her life and she encourages other people to give it a try.
Helping out at the state emergency services will be a major eye opener for anyone.
